Miss Perinelli Rocks My World

Wheatley is a unique high school experience. Our teachers were not only educators, but they were also our mentors, our friends, and, most of all, our strongest advocates. One of our most cherished teachers, Miss Perinelli, was one of them. As a gem of the science department, Miss Perinelli sparked the interest of incoming Wheatley students, making them feel welcomed and valued. In the classroom, she created an engaging environment and encouraged collaboration. But it was the relationships that she built outside the classroom that reinforced her true passion of teaching. Through the years, students stayed connected with her, recognizing her stellar character and high level of personal integrity.

Unfortunately, this past school year, Miss Perinelli was suspended from teaching. In addition to a withheld salary, her case with the NYSED came to a close in April resulting in unfounded accusations. While she will be returning to Wheatley in the upcoming fall, the charges brought against her has caused significant financial burdens. Legal fees and a lack of salary caused a debt amounting to thousands of dollars to reclaim a position that was unjustly stripped from her.
