Help Me Fight Bone Cancer

My name is Greg Cawthon.  I was diagnosed 15 years ago with prostate cancer.  I had surgery and my prostate was removed.  I had been cancer free for 15 years until recently when I was diagnosed with bone cancer in five different places throughout my body.  Without treatment I have been given less than two years.  The prescribed treatment is in the form of two monthly shots and this is only the tip of the iceberg.  Further treatment will be necessary.  Even with insurance I am left with a substantial amount to pay on a monthly basis plus co-pays on doctors’ visits. To compound matters, five years ago I was diagnosed with Central Nervous System Vasculitus of the brain, which caused me to have three strokes and a heart attack.  To date my medical bills have been over 4 million dollars.  I have exhausted all my funds by using everything that I had - 40 years worth of savings and retirement.  My family has sacrificed tremendously to cover medical expenses, and we have exhausted all of our funds.  We barely make enough to cover our bills at present, leaving us without money to cover my treatment.  I have yet to receive any treatment and according to my most recent doctor's visit, the cancer is progressing quickly.  I am a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army.  I have contacted the VA for help, but to this point I cannot even get a doctor's appointment in a reasonable amount of time.  I continue to petition the VA for help, but the turnaround time for assistance is undetermined and lengthy. And while we wait and wait, the cancer continues to spread.  The doctor says I need these shots NOW.  The doctor did try and assist me in finding grant monies in various government and pharmaceutical programs, but there is no money to be found as they have no funds available.  Because of my past health conditions I've been turned down from participation in clinical trials to my disappointment.  The doctor explained to me that any goal with cancer treatment includes prolonging the life of the patient as long as possible in hopes that further medical discoveries will come about.  I can only hope to prolong my own life as much as possible so that I can be there for my family.  I would like to walk my daughters down the aisle one day, which is why I am reaching out for your help! I cannot even put into words how thankful I will be for any assistance.  Your donations mean more time on the planet with those that I love!  I am so blessed that I have found so much support from friends and family throughout my struggles in this life, and I want to make sure that people know that I am forever thankful!  Any amount you can afford would be helpful for me.  I know times are hard for everyone, and reaching out for help is very hard for me.  Please do not put yourself or your family in a negative financial position by giving to my cause.  However, if you are able to give, please remember that every little bit no matter how big or small will help me stay alive a little bit longer!
