Adam's Academic Summer Adventure

Adam Jackson is a rising Senior at Phoenix Collegiate Academy, a College Prep High School located in Phoenix, Arizona. In addition to being a student at PCA, Adam is also a participant in the STEP Expedition program, a prestigious program for low-income high-school students to forge a pathway to success through higher education for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Through this program, Adam was encouraged to apply to the Summer Humanities Institute at Carlton College. This is an amazing opportunity for Adam and will open up many doors on his pathway to college. Adam aspires to become a New York Times Best Selling author and this summer academic program will help him on his journey.
Adam is the oldest of three and will be the first to attend and graduate from college. Two months ago, Adam's father and sole-caretaker/provider passed away suddenly. This tragedy left Adam and his three siblings devasted and now in the care of their grandparents. Adam's grandparents are on a fixed income and his grandmother was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and will be receiving chemotherapy. Adam is a resilient young man and has not let these hardships derail his quest for college.
In an effort to support him in his dream of one day attending Carlton College and becoming the author he so fondly dreams of, Adam needs help raising money for his airfare to the Carlton College Humanities Summer program. The money raised from the gofundme account will be used to purchase one round-trip ticket from Phoenix, Arizona to Minneapolis, Minnesota (departing Phoenix on July 24th and returning August 12th). Adam needs to purchase this round-trip ticket as soon as possible in order to secure his spot in the competitive summer program.
Helping this young man attend this summer academic program would not just mean to world to him but to his family and school community as well. Adam intends on sharing his knowledge gained through this program with his fellow classmates and younger siblings and help others through a series of writing workshops he will help co-faciliate when he returns.
