The Cottage Where Lives Are Changed

My name is Dee Vickery. I am founder of Dee Vickery Ministries/Off the Beaten Path Ministries, Inc. a 501c3 organization.
My story is no different than millions of women, except that, after crying out to God to help me know why I kept being drawn to men that would abuse me, I was healed! I have been reaching out to hurting women since 1999.
One of the outreaches of DVM is Abigail's House Ministries, where we already have in place a powerful and effective healing and restoration mentoring program, unlike any other, for men and women who come weekly. WE ARE SEEING AMAZING RESULTS!! But there are women who need a more intense and personal program, a 30-90 day residential program for women from all walks of life who are in need of healing and restoration.
The women coming to Abigail's House have tried everything else and nothing has helped them. Whether their brokenness manifests in addictive behaviors, depression, grief, etc., they've lost hope of their lives ever being any different than it's been for most of their lives.
For this residential program to come about we've got to have more room! It's not okay that when there's a desperate need, I have to tell a woman they can't come, we don't have room for you! IT'S JUST NOT OKAY!! So, I have devised a three phase solution. Phase I: The Cottage is what I'm asking you to invest in NOW! This little cottage will house 2-3 women as they go through the 30-90 healing and restoration program.
The money for this project will be used to purchase an adorable 10'x16' very well built unfinished cabin; finish it out on the inside and furnish it. Our first "guest" or student, as they like to be called, will be arriving the middle of July of 2016! We need it by then!
There's a line from a wonderful movie called Field of Dreams, "You build it and they will come." And they will come! They will come!!! You help me build The Cottage and they will come!
This project is not just close to my heart, it is my heart! Because I've been where most of these women either are or have been, I have a burning passion to help women get healed, restored and step into their God-ordained destiny! You see, I was married to an abuser for 16 yrs. I know what it feels like to have no hope of a future. There was no place for me to be healed.
Some of these women, because of suicidal depression, unnatural grief, etc have gone to counselor after counselor and are NONE THE BETTER!!! Most come here as their last hope!
Oh folks, I can't think of anything better to invest in than people's lives!
