Williams Lake Firefighter,
Chris Walker, is in need of our support. Chris has contracted a rare form of cancer that has entangled itself into his spinal cord of the mid lower spine. He has been waiting for test results, sent to the Mao Clinic several weeks ago, to come back and identify the growth. It's an aggressive rare form stemming possibly from the brain region. He has undergone a second surgery today, Jan 20, to attempt to remove the cancerous cells. It is a very delicate procedure and will be followed by chemo and radiation treatments once the surgery site has healed enough to proceed. He has a long tough road to recovery ahead of him, the prognosis from the surgeon is he will not have the use of his legs.
Chris has dedicated his time and life for the past several years to protect the life and properties of others as a firefighter. Now it's our turn to, in turn, show this amazing man Chris our gratitude for his sacrifices.
The funding will help Chris, his wife Nancy and kids, renovate his home to be wheelchair accessible and transition, in these tough times, to a new life style.
