Assistance in Replacing My Camera

Donation protected
In 2015 my son took my Nikon camera, lens, with memory card and pawned it to support his drug addiction. He is a good man at heart but allowed drugs to overtake him and change him into a person who would take even the most important possession from people who love him. Of course, he has promised to replace them but over whelming bills he has yet made good on this promise. The positive result of this sad and frustrating experience is my son has gone into drug and alcohol rehabilitation and is no longer abusing substances. However, he continues to struggle every day. I am a hard working person but my job just about pays my bills and does not allow for any extras.

The camera my son stole was a purchase I saved for and it was like a dream come true when I purchased it. Photograph has gripped me in a big way. I became interested in photography in 2006 when a friend showed me to his equipment and invited me to start photographing with him. He has passed away and I will always appreciate how he got me started. I began with a point and shoot camera taking holiday snaps of family but quickly discovered my love of photography. I slowly moved up to an entry level DSLR and then onto my advanced camera. My photo goal is to tell each subject’s story as if it were my own. I am continually learning and discovering new ideas, techniques and the art of image manipulation (all self taught). I love experimenting and trying new things. I have discovered the emotions and excitement photography brings not only to myself but to others. I not only enjoy it for myself but I also give back by helping judge high school photography competitions, volunteer my services to photograph people who cannot afford to pay, photograph my friends, and try to help others out when asked. I am happiest when I am looking through the lens. It is my passion and life without it is just not complete.

I had a Nikon D7000 but would be very happy to have a camera that is not quite so expensive. I am hoping to buy the Nikon P900, a couple of memory cards, and an extra battery. The camera is $599. The memory cards and battery are $100. I am asking for a total $699.00.

Thank you for reading my story and a donation of any amount will mean the world to me.

I hope you enjoy my photos!
