25th Birthday ! Pay It Forward !

Hello everyone- for those who know me or may not know me my name is Lindsay and this year I will be turning 25 years old. When I was 12 years old I was diagnosed with FOP. FOP is One of the rarest, most disabling genetic conditions known to medicine, FOP causes bone to form in muscles, tendons, ligaments and other connective tissues. Bridges of extra bone develop across joints, progressively restricting movement and forming a second skeleton that imprisons the body in bone. There are no other known examples in medicine of one normal organ system turning into another. I’m asking this year instead of gifts to have money donated to raise money to purchase a piece of equipment needed at the University of Pennsylvania to help with research to find a cure for FOP. This will not only mean so much to me but everyone else in my FOP family who lives with this disabling disability everyday.
