$1 for Higher Education in Ghana

Tax deductible
During the first 12 months of my exposure to the United States, I was astounded by the differences between the U.S. and Ghana, where I grew up. The basic infrastructure in the U.S. alone led me to start asking, “Why?”  As I continued to ask why, three themes emerged; sacrificial leadership, a spirit of investment, and higher education.

I felt as though there was a “school on every corner of street.” Among the themes identified, I became certain higher education was the “hope of Ghana and Africa.” I realized I could sacrifice (sacrificial leadership) by moving to Ghana with my family after completing my education to establish a higher educational institution - Palm Institute - a liberal arts college (www.palminstitute.edu.gh) and invest (a spirit of investment) towards the creation of ethics-based higher educational opportunities and experiences  in Ghana to bring an enhanced future to many.

As part of creating ethical leadership development opportunities for Ghanaians and other Africans, I founded the Naa Amerley Palm Education (NAPE) Foundation and have awarded several scholarships since 2009 to students at the high school and university levels.

The “$1 for Higher Education” project is an initiative of the NAPE Foundation to reach individuals and corporate bodies to support students from the rural parts of Ghana by donating $1 or more to attend Palm Institute.

Our rural outreaches have demonstrated that there are several brilliant but financially challenged students in Ghana. We believe in giving more students in these areas and beyond an opportunity to embark on a journey that would transform their lives, communities and the country at large.

Partner with us today by donating $1 or more on monthly, quarterly or yearly basis towards the tuition cost of a student at Palm Institute. Your donation will not only transform higher education in Ghana but lives of future ethical leaders.

Our goal is to reach one million people between August 2016 and Agust 2021 who will donate at least $1 or more towards the NAPE Foundation scholarship fund to support our brilliant but financially handicapped students to attain higher education at Palm Institute.

Our first scholarship disbursements will occur in August 2017. The funds will be disbursed after a rigorous selection process by the GHȼ1/$1 for Higher Education Scholarship Board.

All donor will receive monthly updates on this project.

We appreciate your support!
