Caleb's Cancer Journey
Donation protected
This GoFundMe for Caleb Tucker's Cancer Journey is to raise funds to help offset the costs of his long term chemotherapy and radiation treatment course.
Caleb was diagnosed with Stage 3 (possibly 4) Wilms' Tumor. Wilms' is a kidney cancer that is only found in 400-500 kids a year. On August 18, he underwent major surgery to remove a cantaloupe sized tumor that had engulfed his kidney. The surgeons also removed multiple cancerous lymph nodes. His tumor was donated to science to learn more about this rare cancer!
Caleb is a very active six year old who loves to play video games, soccer, and swimming! He enjoys cheering for the Royals with his dad and his cousin.
Caleb is typically very healthy which made this diagnosis even more shocking.
He started his first round of chemo and radiation this week. Caleb's treatment plan for Wilms' includes a minimum six months of chemo and 7 radiation sessions.
The costs of long term extensive medical treatment can be devastating to families. Costs include reduction of employment time, transportation to treatment, medicine, and specialty care. There are also a variety of other expenses (parking at treatment, special diet food costs, medical equipment, etc) that really add up over time.
Caleb's parent's (Ben and Tarah) are overwhelmed just keeping up with his care. I (Aunt Sarah) have set up this GoFundMe for them, but the money will be directly deposited into an account for them to use for Caleb's medical expenses.
Ben, Tarah, Caleb, Grace, and Luke will need continual prayers and support through the next six months. We ask that you please share this page through Facebook, email, word of mouth to get this page to as many people as possible!
Thanks for reading about our amazing Caleb. Even if donation is not possible, please pray for the Tucker family during this difficult time. I'm excited to see our community rally around this family to help Caleb fight this cancer.
