Hello and thank you everyone for viewing this page!

If you’re looking at this and thinking TL;DR (Too Long; Didn’t Read). We have a short recap video you can watch!

March 2018 -- Thousand Faced Theatre Company launched.

What’s TFTC you might ask?

Thousand Faced Theatre Company (TFTC) is a corporation, working towards its 501c3 status, founded by a group of Drake University/National Musical Theatre Institute alumni based in NYC. We are focused on creating and producing new works and unique interpretations of existing pieces in the hopes of giving voices to those who may traditionally not have the opportunity to be heard. We recognize that today, as much as any time in history, our society could greatly benefit from exposure to perspectives that may differ from traditional norms. We believe that in presenting new ideas to our audiences we can bring humanity closer together one performance at a time.

Our Mission

Thousand Faced Theatre serves to empower the voices of emerging artists by creating and developing work in an inclusive and diverse community. TFTC strives to provide a platform that brings a thousand faces, voices, and ideas into the light.

This showcase featured new works from both Zachary Decker, making his playwrighting debut; And brother/sister writing duo Cristina/Robbie Farruggia featuring songs from their three musicals.

Songs from a Coffeeshop an original song-cycle @ Don’t Tell Mama

“I was inspired to write this piece because New York can be lonely. You can walk into a busy shop and still feel so alone. But taking a closer look at our patrons' stories will hopefully make people feel a little less alone in this crazy caffeinated world.” -Kelsey Kindall (Composer/Lyricist)

Typed Out: A Miscast Princess Cabaret  at The Broadway Comedy Club

A miscast cabaret that will challenge the mold of 'princess' and celebrate the women who taught many of us a fierce independence, a free-spirit, passion, kindness, courage and more.

The Rooftop Playwright Series

A developmental lab that began June 2018 as a way to foster new works from emerging artists, as well as a way to meet and form relationships with future colleagues.

June 2018 -- SPROUTED! By Nachi Lederer
August 2018 -- From Inside… By Zachary Decker
October 2018 -- Who’s Who in Dipsomania By Nick Anderson
January 2019 -- Falcon By Nick Vogl
February 2019 -- Sea Silk: A Play with Music by Jason Miyamoto & Jasen Sill
March 2019 -- The Remembering Party by Kenny Hahn

On the business end we:

Became incorporated.
Opened an official bank account
Launched a website
Designed an official logo
Elected a Board of Directors
Took major steps in applying for our 501c3 status

Upcoming Projects

Spring Show -- Typed Out: A Miscast Princess Cabaret

We’re revamping the production that launched TFTC! With a whole new slew of princesses, a 3-piece band, and new venue.

Summer Show -- Honesty in an Apology by Nathan David Smith

Nathan David Smith will be making his playwriting debut with Honesty in an Apology. The piece explores the relationship between a hospitalized father and his son. Diving into themes of abandonment, forgiveness and truth when their unexpected and awkward reunion reignites past tensions.

Approx. every other month-- The Rooftop Playwright Series

The Rooftop Playwright Series is an event Thousand Faced Theatre created to provide a workshop setting for new works. This can include musicals, plays, essays, sketch comedy, songwriting and more! Each installment can look very different than the last, and we encourage each artist to use the opportunity however they feel is best for the next step of their show! Some installments are done at an apartment with no rehearsal. We drink. We eat. It’s very casual and more feedback oriented. Other installments are a bit more formal. We rent a space. We set up music stands and chairs. We can even record audio and video. Every artist gets the opportunity to shape the night to best suit their needs!
