My name is Joane Malofsky (Smashley Olsen) and I have been playing Roller Derby since 2011 in Huntsville, Alabama for the Rocket City Rebels. This year I have been chosen for the South Eastern Team for the Innaugural JRDA Junior Derby Olympics in Lincoln, Nebraska on July 12 and 13.
This is MY VERY FIRST position to be chosen for outside of my League where I have been a Captain for the last 4 years, so you can imagine how excited I am for this wonderful opportunity.
Roller Derby has been my life since 2011 and I travel to sub with other teams and try-outs for other opportunities as much as my parents can afford. I work hard and I play even harder to become the very best Roller Derby Captain, team mate and mentor for my team. I never hesitate to help out the other members of my team as well as my coaches.
This opportunity means the world to me and I would be forever thankful for any help to get me to Lincoln, as well as the practices in Florida before July. Thank you for taking the time to read.
