Support the fight against HIV/AIDS
Donation protected
On June 5th - June 11th I'll be joining over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists to participate in AIDS/LifeCycle , a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
The services provided as a result of this event mean the world to those who receive them. Even a little bit goes a long way! Here are just a few ways these funds will be put to use:
$500 will provide HIV pervention counseling to 60 teens.
$500 provides 40 rapid HIV and anitbody tests.
$1,000 covers a full year of medical supply costs for 40 patients.
$1,500 underwrites the cost of comprehensive HIV/STI testing, counseling, treatment, and linkage care for 10 clients.
This is something that is close to home for all of us in California.
• In California up to 7,000 will become infected with HIV this year.
• Nearly 1 in 10 of the nation’s HIV-positive people lives in California and the state ranks second in the nation in cumulative AIDS cases at nearly 160,000.
• More than two-thirds of all Californians living with HIV reside in Los Angeles County or the San Francisco Bay Area.
Help me take part to make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past. Will you support me by making a donation today?
