Wheelchair Double Swing for Jeffrey
Donation protected
My precious son lost his life while battling a horrible disease called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He also had a very low functioning level of Autism. He was a happy kid even though the odds were against him. He went to a school that has helped him for many years. They helped make our pool accessible, Taught Jeffrey how to drive a wheelchair even though the insurance company denied him did not believe he could drive a wheelchair. Finally one day he did. rough the dedication of years of practice. Jeffrey drove a borrowed wheelchair like a pro. That day forward he had legs once again and a voice. He then was given another piece of equipment that gave him a real voice. It was called an eyegaze. It was also fought for. Jeffrey won. We donated this very expensive piece of equipment back to the school so we could give voices to many children to come. One day the teacher sent home photos of my beautiful child on a wheelchair swing. He was smiling ear to ear. He did not want to share that swing or get off. There were kids waiting. They needed their turn. So through the death of my son. I realized I wanted to do something to help carry on his name and show how grateful we were to be part of this amazing school. I want to raise money to give them another swing or two. Children with Autism need this choice. It helps with so many sensory needs that their body craves. They deserve the world. Please help this school and help carry my son's legacy forever. He was loved by all. This will only show how much they were also loved by Jeffrey and his family.
