Cailen's Medical Recovery Fund

Last week, my husband, Cailen, was rushed to the hospital for what we thought was just a very infected abscess on his upper thigh. He was suffering high fevers and nausea and a very swollen groin, so bad that he was barely able to walk.

Once he was admitted to the hospital, they very quickly found out that he was actually suffering from Fournier Gangrene and the abscess had been the result of the gangrene already attacking his system, Cailen had also become septic on top of everything. We were told that there was a 40% mortality rate and he was very quickly rushed into surgery to remove as much of the necrotic tissue and infection as they could though the course of two surgeries.

Very thankfully, the only casualty that was suffered was a testicle and Cailen survived. Despite how infected his body was, he is recovering a lot quicker then what the doctors had expected and we hope to have him home to finish recovering soon!

 
While we do live in Canada, it’s very reliving to know that most of his medical expenses are being taken care of. The donation goal is ideally to help with any extra costs during the recovery phase once Cailen is able to return home, such as any special equipment, a new bed that would be more accommodating, any travel costs between our home and the hospital and lost wages.
