Last week in Grand Forks B.C. a catastrophic flood hit, Surpassing the worst recorded 70 years ago. Kocomos Coffee House, our beautiful and beloved coffeeshop was completely devastated
We are Tom and Tracy Lockwood; We have lived in Grand Forks the better part of 20 years, started and are raising our family of five boys here; Kai Thalion-10yrs, Quinn Thomas-8yrs, Rowan Aurelius-5yrs, Phoenix Avery-2yrs, our newest son MacKenzie James- 1month and mom Susan ♥
Our Coffee Shop Kocomos Coffee House/Hardy Mountain Coffee Roasters was on the front lines of the businesses hit in our downtown core. Fighting the river off for hours, fortifying the front with sandbags but the river rose up from the back alley through the storm drain filling up the basement and finally breaching the floors. It rose 3ft into the building completely devastating everything inside :( :( :(

This business has served the wonderful members of this community for 23 years and has been our livelihood and only source of income. We are asking for help because unlike people who have lost their homes, those who have lost their businesses do not qualify for financial assistance from the red cross for food vouchers or any other financial aid from anywhere else right now! Yes we are VERY grateful we are still in our home with our family, however rent, mortgage and bills still need to be paid, kids still need to be fed and diapered, gas still needs to get us from A to B and we have a HUGE deductible to pay out for our insurance to kick in and with no income coming in we could lose everything!
