Megan's Lyme Disease Battle

My name is Devin Crist and this page is for my wife Megan. In 2007 Megan was bit by tick while in basic training for the Army. So had some symptoms but not many. It was not until fall 2011 when my wife started having serious symptoms after we found out she was pregnant. It was a rough pregnancy in which we thought we would loose our baby many times. In 2010 after we returned from Afghanistan, we lost our first child. Megan started having chest pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, extreme fatigue, memory loss, arthritis like symptoms in her joints making it hard for her to move, and also sometimes she cannot feel her legs and cannot get out of bed. She also started wearing a heart monitor. Megan has run marathons and works out, and in the military, so this was quite a change. After our son Haydn was born May 2012, Megan's heart started failing her and was going into cardiac arrest. She now has a pace maker at age 26 with all the other symptoms to go along with it. The doctor that put in the pace maker said she possibly has Lyme Disease. After many tests and doctor saying she is crazy and it is in her head and seeing psychiatric doctors to please her medical doctors, she does have Lyme. She has seen many doctors and now sees Dr Jemsek and is being treated she has a picc line in for antibiotics we administer every day (IV treatments), take over 60 pills a day, and is going to have a port put in her chest. She is just 26. We live in Illinois and Dr. Jemsek is in Washington D.C. We have to see him every 4-6 weeks. Our insurance both Tri-care and Blue Cross Blue Shield will not pay because they say Chronic Lyme does not exsist. So everything is out of pocket and takes a toll on us. I am the only one working and I try my hardest, but it does not cut it. Treatment and visits will will put us well over $50,000.00 for everything. Megan had to drop out of her college one semester short of her Bachelors Degree and she is trying to get into medical school. I am asking that you help my wife become her old self again and have a normal life with me and our 8 month old baby boy. She is the best person I know and I just want my wife back.
