Quite a number of years back, I weighed 13 stone, did long distance running and was pretty active.

Spending a lot of time in front of the computer, starting to hit that middle age spread. Punctuated with hitting 20 stone back in December 2017. Decided to find the URL for the outside world and get off my butt.

Couch to 5k.

With the aid of my wife and some great friends encouragement, now  more physically active with running and swimming. I'm now at 17 stone. Recorded a pb time of 32.20 at this Saturday's local Parkrun. Found  a few new muscles and few that didn't want to be found! It's been a little slow getting there but it's worth it. I've cut 2 min 5 sec from my initial time for a 5k and wanted a new target!

5k to Triathlon

Now the next step. Why, well why not! I really enjoy swimming, have started to enjoy running again and now combine it with cycling! I can blame Jenson Button for the inspiration to aim for this.

The Tresco Triathlon seemed like the natural first step for me as a target to aim for. This is raising money for the British Red Cross. This is their chosen charity.

It's a sprint Triathlon - 0.36 mile swim, 12 mile bike and 3 mile run.

Thanks very much for your time in reading this.
