2019 Puppets in Prague Fundraiser

$75 of $2,100 goal

Raised by 2 people in 12 months

Having made string puppets (with help) in my woodshop classes as a kid, as an apprentice in 1993 and then with polymer clay as an apprentice for Faerie Enchantments in 2005, I was aware that the city of Prague was practically synonymous with  string puppetry. In late 2011, I saw this  Puppets In Prague Workshop Video  and was practically jumping on the inside. I wanted to attend so badly that I was physically fidgeting with eagerness for 3 out of the 3:43 minutes the video played (and for about an hour or so after that.)  Every year the workshop has been on my mind and when I saw that the workshop co-owner, Leah Gaffen announcing the applications for the 2018 workshops I got sick of prolonging it. I filled out the application and submitted photos of my work.

A few days later, on November 8th, 2017 I recieved an e-mail from Leah Gaffen confirming that I have officially been accepted into the Puppets in Prague Workshop for June 2018! This is an honor that only 12 out of the many applicants are given (the website even says that many people from all different art fields apply to the workshop.) Attending the Puppets in Prague workshop is a dream for puppet makers and artists across the globe and I have an opportunity to live that dream. However I need funding to:

The workshop fee of precisely $967.60

$24.20 per night to pay for Lodging at a hotel within walking distance of the workshop that has been arranged by the workshop coordinators

$12.10 per day to pay for food and other expenses for the 16 days duration of the course.

$541.00 for plane tickets

Which amounts to $2,089.40 which rounds up to $2100.00

I know with your help, I can do it! Even if you can only donate one dollar, it helps!

The campaign hasn't been going so smoothly to put it lightly. But I believe we can make it work! If you cannot donate, then share it around. Tell other people to share it around if they can't donate. With enough shares, we can meet our goal but we have to be quick!

The workshop fee is not $800.00. Its listed as 20,000 Czech crowns, which did translate to roughly $800.00 in 2011 when I checked the numbers, but now that number is actually $932.00. I have to pay 1/2 of it by January so my campaign goal for the month is $500 now that I have been turned down for the scholarship. If 20 people donate $25.00 each that makes $500! If 50 people donate $10.00, that still makes $500, but for time's sake its faster to have 20 people donating $25.00. So let's make that the goal! Right now, we have 0 people! Who will be the first? I'll keep you updated on the progress and if whoever donates gets a link to view an exclusive vlog on my youtube channel that I take of the workshop!

I noticed that the text on the acceptance e-mail is not visible in the photo I'm using. However, I have uploaded the screenshot taken from my g-mail account to the imgur and placed linked it in my story! Check out the link to see what it says. I was really excited that my first application was accepted!
