2017 Women's World Championship

$490 of $7,000 goal

Raised by 11 people in 1 month
Hi, my name is Lauren Evans. I am a south Gold Coast, Queensland local.

I have been selected as quarterback to represent Australia as part of the Australian Outback Women's National Gridiron Team at the 2017 Women's World Championship in Canada in June 2017.

This will be the first time that Australia has entered a team into the WWC, and we are training hard to do our country proud.

Gridiron in Australia is not funded. As such, each player is required to self fund their attendance at the WWC, at an approximate cost of $6,500. I will also be required to purchase a new helmet at acost of approx $500.

I am reaching out to my friends and supporters who may be able to spare even a few dollars to help me cover the costs of this incredible honour. Any amounts donated will go directly toward the costs of travel and participation at the WWC.

All fees need to be paid by mid May 2017.

About me
I started playing gridiron in 2012 for the Gold Coast Seawolves, playing in the first fully sanctioned women's gridiron game in Australia. The following year the Seawolves joined the Gold Coast Stingrays and became the Gold Coast Stingrays Women's Team. That year we won the Summerbowl Championship. That season I also joined the Stingrays Committee.

Since then I have played quarterback and captained my team to back to back championships in 2015 and 2016, as well as playing tight end for the Queensland Sundevils in 2014 and quaterback and team captain in 2016.

I have also completed my Level 1 Coaching Accreditation and am volunteer Coach of the Stingrays Youth Gridiron program, coaching kids aged 7-13 in the fundamentals of gridiron and flag football every Sunday afternoon from September - December.

Less than 2 months to go! The training has increased and the mental preparation is well underway.
With the financial burden being a big issue for all of us, any support from my friends would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you to those who have donated so far. Preparation for the World Championship is coming along well, in the gym and on the field.
Flights are booked, first instalment of fees has been paid, visas sorted and my brand new football helmet should arrive next week.
There is still a long way to go financially and I would appreciate any donations that can be spared.
Alternatively, I am still looking for sponsors to support me through the WWC. If you know of any businesses that would like to jump on board as a personal sponsor, please let me know.
I am also looking for a major prize donation for an upcoming promotion I will be running. Again, if you know of any businesses that would like to donate a prize, please send them my way.
Thanks! Evans #7
