2016 KP Football-Super Bowl Champs

Tax deductible
King Philip Warrior Football - Super Bowl Champions for the first time in school history!  It's been an incredible season, in fact you could say perfect.  12-0 Perfect!

KP Gridiron appreciates your support all season, we have a wonderful community.  To celebrate the perfect season we'd love to get the players & coaches Super Bowl rings, jackets and have a banquet as special as they are.  Many have asked "How can I help?"  Here is one way...if you'd like to donate we'd appreciate it - big or small, $1 or $1,000.  You've already given a lot, so no pressure, just trying to make it easy for folks.

Here's a look back at our historic 2016 season:

  * Beat North Attleboro 19 – 7 in the season opener at Community Field.  North moved to the Davenport Division so KP didn’t have to play this “always a powerhouse” team this year, they wanted to!

*Shut-out Foxboro 21 – 0 in their home opener, the KP defense allowing Foxboro only 4 first downs.

*Traveled up to Oliver Ames and put on an offensive & defensive show with KP’s 379 yards to OA’s 58.  Score 42 – 6!

*Beat Mansfield on their home turf, in the rain, 20 -17.  It was a battle for the ages, but the Warrior toughness prevailed.  After a long string of losses to this rival, KP has now beat Mansfield 3 years in a row, two of which were at Mansfield’s Alumni Field.

*Put on an offensive display against Franklin beating them 35 – 13.

*On the road again, beat a tough Attleboro team 36 -13, racking up 400 yards of total offense, 323 on the ground.

*Beat Taunton Tigers 28-8 to win Kelly-Rex Division Title; KP only undefeated team in Hockomock league.  Earned 4th Kelley-Rex division title (twice out right) in last 6 seasons.

*1st round playoff win vs. tough Attleboro team, racking up 442 yards total offense and 51 – 21 score.

*2nd round playoff win vs. the great Marshfield Rams, holding them to only 7 points when they’ve averaged 40 points/game for the season.

*South Sectional Final win vs. the powerful Bridgewater-Raynham Trojans – Warriors grinded it out to get the 33-28 win.

*Beat Franklin for the 7th straight Thanksgiving, the longest win streak by either team in the Turkey Day rivalry.

*KP advances to Super Bowl for 1st time and WINS!!  Beat Reading 21 – 18.  State championship for first time in school history.
