Help Jessica Say Goodbye

Donation protected
Jessica was diagnosed with AML (acute myeloid leukemia) In September 2010 at the age of 16. This type of cancer is extremely rare with fewer than 200,000 US cases per year. AML progresses rapidly Affecting your blood, bone marrow, platelets, and much more. Jessica immediately began an aggressive chemo regimen as well as endured many various extensive medical procedures at Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin Texas before finally going into remission. While in remission she found out a miracle had happened, she became pregnant with what would be a little girl, Addison. She gave birth to Addison who quickly became the light of her life. Although she was in remission she still struggled with other medical issues that plagued her as a result of the intense treatment she had received. For nearly 2 years she remained in remission before finally being re-diagnosed at the age of 18. By this time she was living in New York with her mother and some of her siblings. When the cancer returned in the Spring of 2013 a bone marrow transplant was necessary for her survival. This meant leaving her infant daughter to be admitted into the hospital to remain until the compatible donor was found and until she was well enough to endure this procedure. She received her bone marrow transplant, experienced some complications, but ultimately the transplant was successful and gave Jessica 6 more precious years to make memories with her daughter. However, Jessica was still in and out of the hospital dealing with chronic pain and a myriad of other issues that came as a result of so many years of intense treatments. Now in 2019 her cancer has returned for the last and final time. She has fought hard and endured so much for so many years but it has come to a point where her body cannot withstand any more treatment and there’s nothing left for her doctors to do. She is being sent home and into hospice care to spend her final days at home with her family. Jessica has endured almost a decade of being poked, prodded, and in pain. Now she will finally be able to rest but will be survived by her family and sweet daughter Addison. As a family we are asking for donations to help with anything and everything between travel accommodations for siblings to get to her in time to say their goodbyes, to help with medical expenses, to help supplement income for the days the family will be away from work spending precious time with Jessica, funeral expenses, care for daughter Addison, and everything else in between. Please help Jessica to be able to spend her final days and last Christmas with her family and help ease their mind with your donations. Thank you.
