Avery Fender’s Insulin Project

My name is Lukas Fender and this is a GoFundMe for my little sister Avery Anne. Avery is 6 years old and was diagnosed with type one diabetes last year. My sister is an inspiration to me much more than anyone else in this world. My sister has taught me the innocence in life and the good about the world. The entire thing is new to me and new to my family and i’ve seen my parents work hard day by day to pay the insanely high prices of insulin and i always have wondered a way i could help. Insulin was first manufactured and sold to be cheap and affordable for anyone because it is necessary for a diabetic to live.. Since then, the biggest insulin company’s have upped their prices to almost $285 for a single vial of insulin. I have been thinking on this for a while, my goal is to surprise my mother (Stefanie) with a fund she can use to stock up on insulin with. I want to put a smile on my family’s face and give my mother a sense of security. Relieving the stress off of her shoulders would be the greatest thing i could ever experience. But, of course this surprise could only be achieved if everyone was quiet about it!
