1st Cobargo Scouts Canoe Fleet Replacement
On the 31st December 2019 the small NSW town of Cobargo was heavily impacted by a massive bushfire with many homes and properties either destroyed or severely damaged. One of the homes lost was owned by Graham and Lynn Parr who are Scout and Joey leaders of the 1st Cobargo Scouts . Unfortunately, all of the Scouts paddling equipment was stored at their home and was completely destroyed as well.
The 1st Cobargo Scouts are a very active and inclusive group and the loss of their equipment has been devastating. Beyond their paddling equipment they also lost their bus. They've contacted us at Paddle & Portage Canoes to ask about replacing some of their lost equipment. We have offered to donate their first replacement canoe and to attempt to fundraise in order to replace the other equipment including their trailer, 7 canoes, and paddles. Your assistance can really help to make this dream a reality for them.
Happier times in their old canoes.
The ash-pile above is what's left of their fibreglass canoes. The plastic ones had completely vapourised.
