Two Pregnant Pigs Viciously Attacked By Dog.

Donation protected
UPDATE. Today Oct 11th. Amelia had scheduled to be debride again this morning. She was not feeling well due to the medication. She was given Tue & Wed to empty her uterus so she doesn't get septic. She was very uncomfortable and in pain. The doctor upped her morphine and we thought it was best to let her rest till Monday. We will try to debride her then. The pic is her at bandage change tonight. All the pink is healthy tissue that is healing very well. Earhart had a good day. We think after further examination it will be a week before her babies arrive. She likes taking walks outside her pen. I will bring her an outside play pen so she can play in the grass. As you can see in Amelia's pics. They needs all the donations, shares & prayers you can spare. UPDATE today Oct 5th. Amelia's bandage change of her wound truly broke my heart. I know its for the best to remove all the necrotic tissue. Now she can start to heal properly. So many people asked to see, so i put the picture up. that is where ears should be and the back of her head/neck. Earhart hd the same procedure done yesterday. her bandages wont get changed till tomorrow. They are resting comfortably with the morphine. Continue prayers & donations greatly appreciated. UPDATE.... today Oct 4th. yesterday & today are very hard days for Amelia. Her wound a lot of necrotic tissue. she had maggots and the fear of an infection. we made the choice to debride her. (remove all bad tissue down to the meat/bone) she of course feels as bad as she did when I brought her in. They both are on morphine for the pain. She had a lot of bleeding as a result of the procedure. I will not be posting any pictures of that. Just to graphic. Today for Earhart, she had the same procedure and is just coming out of the anesthesia. She has tears streaming down her face.. she has 4/7 babies due anytime now. she is being monitored closely. the $3,000. deposit will be gone by the end of today. we have roughly $1,300 in donations. the bill estimates to be $7'400. if everything goes smoothly. I put the deposit on my Amex. That is due at the end of month. I can't afford to pay that on my own. We have several ways to donate. Please help in any way that you can.. DONATION CAN BE MADE DIRECTLY TO. UGA front desk (Large animal) [phone redacted] between 9-5 pm PLEASE REFERENCE AMELIA & EARHART Today October 3rd update on the girls. Amelia is having a rougher day. They're going to have to anesthetize her to check out her wound more. She has the more substantial wound and has A LOT of necrotic tissue. Amelia still has maggots around her skull. They were hoping to not have to debride the wound for a few weeks. They wanted to makes sure they were stable before having to put them under Of course there is always a risk when anaesthesia. It is an additional cost but a must. This will give us a better view of all the damage and the best course of treatment. Earhart is doing much better. She is keeping those babies in. So that is great, because she has not even gotten milk in yet for them. She is resting comfortably and they have been moved into a new room they got some pine shavings so she can get a nest ready. They are separated for piglet safety. (Whenever that happens.) I got a call yesterday September 28th around 4:30 about 2 pregnant pigs that were viciously attacked by a dog. It is extremely bad and graphic. Cody (my son) & myself set out to pick them up and rush them to UGA. The smell was horrific. One passed in and out of consciousness on the hour + drive.. I am so lucky to have had cody to drive while I held them. The Veterinarian said this happened 2/ 3 days ago. CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT HELL. Amelia's injury much mire than her ears eaten off. It is very near the spinal cord. Complete miracle she can walk. As the Doctor tried cleaning the debris he had both his hands in up to his wrist in the back of neck. We did scans to see if the dos got any of her brain. Erhardt is missing her piece of her jaw and both ears. She is having a hard time eating. We are hoping that this doesn't throw them into labor. They are both showing a Mucus discharge from their vulva. There will be doctors doing a pre natal exam to see how far along the piglets are and if they're healthy. The estimate for care is 3,000 per pig. We are looking at $6,000 in Immediate care. this is not of course count long term care. This is more than saving 2 pigs.. This is also saving the piglets they are carrying. This is the exact reason dogs should NEVER BE LEFT UNATTENDED. This was totally avoidable. If you can help in any way donations would be greatly appreciated. This gofundme or @[email redacted] PayPal or Venmo
