Recovery From A Devestating Fire — Please Help!!

On Saturday, July 20, 2019, as my husband and I were preparing for bed, we received a frantic phone call from our adult son: “Mom! Our house is on fire!” My son, Johnnie, has lived with his girlfriend, Jess, and her family for the last 3 years. Upon arriving at their home, we were greeted with (what seemed like) over 15 fire trucks, engines, ambulances and police officers. The fire had started in the basement, next to Johnnie and Jess’s bedroom and it appears to have been an electrical fire (according to the fire investigator on the scene). Everything in the home is a total loss. And while Johnnie, Jess, and Jess’s sister, Lauren, were able to get out safely, sadly, two of their cats — Rocky, who was recently adopted, and Messa, their senior, as well as Jess’s 6 year old nephew’s guinea pig, Jimmy, did not make it.I am starting this campaign to help Johnnie, Jess and Jess’s family rebuild from this tragic event.
