Michael Escamilla's Cancer Fight
Donation protected
Michael and I created a caring bridge site so that we can easily communicate with everyone regarding Michael's progress in his fight against stage 3 rectal cancer (T3, N2, M0--for you science folks).
He was diagnosed on June 10th. The good news is that his cancer is curable and has not spread to other organs. Today (September 20) We are beginning the fourth of six rounds of chemotherapy. we have 9-11 months of chemo, chemo w/radiation, and surgery ahead. Michael is a stay at home dad with Lazlo (6 years) and Harrison (20 years) who both have autism and need high touch care. To that end, we decided that a temporary cleaning service and yard service is needed—even though it goes against our comfort zone ethically. They also told Michael that he needs to be exercising even through chemo to keep his physical and mental strength up. We started swimming laps at the local pool when the chemo effects aren’t too severe (sensitivity to cold) So far a good amount of Michael's care will be covered, for which we are thankful. However, there's some medications, procedures and costs related to extra care at home (particularly child care and transportation) are unexpected for which we could use some help. So, if you feel moved to chip in any amount to this gofundme towards our unexpected and uncovered costs that would be great. If not, no worries. We love hearing from you, having short visits, and just holding us in your thoughts.
Other ways to help would be food or gift cards for the boys’ needs (therapy supplies) If you prefer to send a check, please make it out to Kimberly Escamilla. Michael and Kimberly Escamilla
