our building has now detierated to the point that it is no longer safe for our fur~babies! The roof has so many leaks that it is raining into our breaker box and disturbs the electricity. The air conditioning is not dependable. Half the time the compressor doesn't kick on. And we now have black mold growing on the ceiling tiles.
We are having to transfer all of our fur~babies into other rescues or foster home. We will be out of the building on June 30, 2016.
Our mission is to now raise the funds to purchase land and a new energy efficient building for fur~babies that need our help.
My name is Mollie Johnson and I am the owner and founder of a small dog rescue in south Georgia called Second Chance Animal Rescue (SCAR). We are a licensed, non-profit 501(c) (3), no-kill facility in Cairo, GA.. We opened our doors on June 2, 2012. Although we are fairly new, we have already completed over 1000 successful adoptions.
SCAR is a voluntary group whose mission is to rehab and rehome neglected or abused pets. We also provide a safe alternative to shelters for owners that are faced with the decision to find a new home for their pet.
We solely rely on donations to finance veternary exams, vaccinations, medications and surgeries that our rescued pets need.
We are raising money to purchase a new property in hopes to better care for our animals. We appreciate any donations no matter how small.
