Prayers And Support For Sarah And Family

Donation protected
On Monday last week, Sarah visited the doctor's office for what we thought was a sinus infection. Unfortunately, the following day her health worsened to the point that she continuously trembled and could no longer walk or stand. She was taken to Norwalk Hospital on Thursday last week and transferred to Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital Neurological Unit the very next day. Sarah needed specialists in order to find what was wrong. Her symptoms continued to worsen and new ones appeared without a diagnosis. During this time, doctors performed all sort of tests including multiple MRI's, CT scans, blood work, and a spinal tap. It was not until Tuesday that a diagnosis was finally made. Sari, as we call her at home, has a tumor in her right ovary. She will have to have her ovary removed completely and we are praying that the tumor is not cancerous. Sarah has been extremely brave and has not complained regardless of the pain she has had physically and mentally. She has been receiving spiritual care by the priests at the hospital and by our beloved priest friends who have been visiting or in contact with us at home. The doctors say since her immune system has been compromised, it will take a long time for her to recover.
My husband is an amazing father who has been next to Sarah since the first day she was admitted to the hospital. Given that he cares for Sarah at the hospital 24/7, he has been unable to work and he is the sole provider for our family. We are not sure when he will be able to return to work. Meanwhile, I am back and forth every day to help with Sarah and meet with the doctors. Because of this, much of my time is here at the hospital too.
Now we are requesting your help with our expenses during this difficult time. Sarah is one of eleven children, ages ranging from 25 years to 11 months. As you can imagine, financially we are struggling. Things have gotten very difficult for the family with currently no income and so many kids and still bills to pay.
We request that if possible, you could please help support our family during this difficult time. We truly appreciate any donation that can be made.
We sincerely give thanks to all who have helped in any way and have us in their prayers. We are grateful for all the prayers and the immense love we have been given by so many faithful believers. In gratitude, our family will be offering a Holy Mass for your intentions. May God the giver of love and our Lady Queen of peace bless you.

In Christ,
The Martinez Family
