Gary’s Heart Attack causing wedding crisis

Donation protected
After 7 years of being a couple Gary & I set our wedding date at Holt Lodge in Wrexham. We had been busy with preparations. Then, on May 20th 2019 our world was turned upside down.

Gary had a heart attack; the worst kind a STEMI. One artery was completely blocked & another was partially blocked.

I met him at the A&E ambulance bay as he was being transferred & traveled in the ambulance with him. It was awful he was in agony, grey, clammy & he was getting worse. The longest & most crucial journey of our lives.

Due to the rural location the nearest cardiac centre was on the North Wales coast in Rhyl. It was 2 hours after the heart attack started that he got to the cardiac centre in Rhyl via blue lights. The delay caused significant irreversible damage leaving him with 35%EF from the left Ventricle.

Meaning at 42 years old he’s faced with heart failure. Current life expectancy is 10-12 years on average with 35%EF.

His work only paid SSP (statutory sick pay) which is £94 per week. He’s been off work for 2 months recovering. He’s been panicking about how we will pay for our wedding without him being able to work.

I can cover all our usual outgoings but can’t also pay for the wedding. Thankfully we have paid a lot of it off. But current calculations show we have a shortfall still.

He started cardiac rehabilitation & thought brilliant he can start building up his strength. However his heart started throwing off unusual beats. He’s now had a 24 hour ECG to see if they can capture the cause; but we are waiting those results.

Gary has return to work on light duties with consideration to the hours worked. Gary’s only allowed to do 4 hours a day work as the bakery have implemented a phased return.

Gary’s panicking about paying for the wedding. We don’t get no state assistance & we both work.

I want him to recover at his own speed & not worry about paying for our wedding.

Even though he works he’s also the main carer for his mum. His younger siblings rely on him for advice/support as the mum has her own demons to deal with. It’s now Gary’s time to have people help him like he’s done all his life.

I’m asking could people please donate whatever cash they can spare.

Whether that be £1; $1 or €1 to make our wedding still happen & be one less thing for Gary to worry about.

Thank you for taking the time to read
