Support Mr. Mike!!!

Many sororities are lucky to have a wonderful house mom, but nobody is luckier than the Delta Upsilon Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta at UGA to have the most incredible "house dad." Mr. Mike Mitchell has been a part of our Gamma Phi Beta family for ten years. Mr. Mike was initially hired to keep up with repairs and maintain our sorority house but over the years he has become so much more than a handy man or property manager. He provides us with unconditional support all year long. After prepping the house all summer, Mike is the smiling face that gets so excited on move in day and helps us unpack our boxes or carry load after load upstairs. He offers to help hang pictures or rearrange our rooms to make sure we feel at home. If you have ever been at recruitment, then you know Mr. Mike is behind the scenes giving "pep talks," working in the kitchen or taking trash out. He actually loves and understands recruitment more than any colligate sister! He is the type of person that when he asks how we are doing after class, he truly wants to know. From Parents Weekend in the fall to his favorite event, Moonball, in the spring, he is there and we can't imagine any events without his help! Mr. Mike supports the women of Gamma Phi in every way and now this is our time to support him.Mr. Mike has recently been diagnosed with Myeloma blood cancer which has caused serious kidney and heart issues. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy and dialysis and in and out of Athens Regional. Due to his illness, Mike is unable to work and needs our support.
