Help Ian & Suzanne Kick Cancers Ass!

Donation protected
Hi everyone, I thought I would do a quick introduction of myself. Some of you may already know me, but for those of you that don’t I’m Ian’s baby sister, Jemma. As most of you may already be aware, my biggest brother, Ian and his loving wife’s life was completely turned upside down a few weeks ago upon receiving the worst possible news, “I’m sorry, you have prostate cancer” and it just got worse and worse. Another week or so passed and he was told he also had an 8cm tumour growing on his right kidney. Today they were given even more bad news, it has spread. Not only does Ian have 2 different types of cancer, but it has also spread to his pelvic bone, bladder, lymph nodes and he also has early onset of emphysema. How absolutely life shattering can this be?! Thankfully Ian is receiving top quality care through an amazing surgeon and with his supportive wife, Suzanne by his side during this horrible time. A plan has been put into place and Ian will be having operations and treatment over the foreseeable future to try and KICK CANCERS ASS, but unfortunately it isn’t 100% treatable. On Thursday just gone, Ian has one of his first operations, he had his right kidney and the tumour removed, thankfully the operation was done via keyhole. Ian is still in hospital and will continue to rest until he is fully healed to undergo his next operation in 6-7 weeks time. One bright side for the day of Ian’s operation was Ian and Suzanne bumping into Samuel Johnson on their way to hospital (#loveyoursister founder) this really brightened their day and made them realise just a little more that they are not alone and they have support and people walking with them in their journey. Back to reality though, this has been absolutely heart breaking news and what isn’t helping with all of the above, is the added financial pressure they are under. Ian and Suzanne aren’t ones to ask for help, they’re always the ones offering it and I feel absolutely helpless being on the other side of Australia. Ian has obviously had to take time off work to receive treatment etc, With Ian being the main income earner, he has been left feeling absolutely helpless with knowing there is nothing he can do about their situation. They’ve been in touch with their bank to go through financial hardship to put their mortgage payments on hold, Suzanne is traveling to and from the hospital each morning and afternoon, the list goes on. This is where I need your help - I’ve organised this fundraiser to bring awareness to the situation and reach out and ask If you would kindly donate money... it doesn’t have to be a lot, but each donation/amount will help take so much pressure off Ian and Suzanne during this horrible time. As mentioned before, Ian and Suzanne are always there lending a hand with anything, they’re always volunteering their time to many places such as the Ronald McDonald house, the free Gold Coast Christmas lunch for those in need and a few other places, too many to list.... I believe it’s now time for everyone to try and give back. Ian’s biggest dream after having all his treatment will be to travel around Australia in his camper with his beautiful wife, Suzanne and their fur babies. Having this as his goal after all his surgeries and treatment will give him something positive to look forward to. I think they could also really use lots of love and support right now so if you could leave a comment with your donation, that would be even more amazing. I can’t thank you all enough for your time and effort if you can help ❤️
