Dozer The EBD with Spina Bifida

Meet Dozer an 11 week old Olde English Bulldog puppy. Dozer was surrendered into Angels of Fur just 3 days after he was purchased from a breeder. Within 24 hours the family reached out to the breeder about a congenital defect and leaking urine and feces. He was brought to Marcy vet and the leaking was confirmed. The breeder refused to step up and take care of the puppy and he is now in our hands. Dozer came into AOF with urine burns which were bleeding and severe diarrhea. We have taken him to Waterville for an exam, medication, xrays and a confirmed diagnosis. Dozer has extreme urine burns to his back legs, under belly and feces burn around his anus. All which have now stopped bleeding. He is on medication for a ear infection. Steroids to help pain. Antibiotics to help the diarrhea and a confirmed diagnosis of Spina Bifida in L7 of his spine. We will be taking Dozer to Latham to Upstate Veterinary Specialties for an overview, another set of Xrays, an MRI and hopefully surgery and stem cell replacement to stop him from being incontinent. Even with medical funds exhausted we never turn away a medical case in need. Our expenses for diapers, wipes and more will be high. On top of his recent $350 vet visit and more to come.
