Being Dusty-Mae

Donation protected

Dusty-Mae is an almost 6 year old, funny and determined little girl growing up with complex medical challenges.Dusty's Mum and Dad are loving parents and devoted advocates for their daughter, the sunshine of their lives.

Dusty-Mae has a long diagnostic list which includes but is not limited to, austism, cerebal palsy, Ehlers-danlos syndrome, epilepsy, mast cell activation syndrome, central sleep apnea, Burnside Butler syndrome, microchromosonal deletion, microchromosonal duplication syndrome, and global developmental delay. Just one of these diagnostic results would be devastating for most parents.

To her credit her mum Violet doesn't focus on her own medical needs... but they are adding to her already heavy load. Violet herself has Elhers-Danlos syndrome receiving her own diagnosis after her daughter's.This means that she too has a feeding tube. Repeatedly lifting her daughter in and out of her wheelchair, then lifting that wheelchair into a car has resulted in that tube rupturing. No more can she lift without causing severe and permanent inury to herself. They need a self propelling wheelchair with car mounts. It's going to cost 12 thousand dollars and they need it now.
