Please Help Harley Recover

My boyfriend, Kris, and I took my big boy Harley to Wellington Dam for his first ever camping trip over Easter. Whilst parked on the side of the road collecting wood, a Triton ute was driving way to fast on the gravel road. Harley was hit and tumbled under the car then sprinted off for 1.5km out of fear. Kris jumped in his car and found him limping and bleeding from his mouth. The guy in the Triton drove off without offering any help and to top it off he said it was our fault. When Kris said “you were driving a bit fast there mate”, his repose was, “I’ve been doing this for 20 years that’s what you do out here mate”. It easily could have been myself or one of my mates being hit. Kris and I then tried to contact any open vets either Bunbury or Brunswick but all were shut due to the Easter holidays. Luckily, Kris remembered two old family friends who are both well-renowned vets in Harvey. We drove straight there and discovered that Harley had internal bleeding, deeps cuts, concussion and extreme back trauma. After a lot of treatment and a few stitches, Harley is now up and slowly walking again but it will take him time to gain back his strength and personality. For the next few weeks he will be resting and recovering with medication. I am completely heartbroken that Harley had to go through this yet I can’t explain how very grateful I am that he is alive and in good hands. As expected, the vet bill is quite large for myself and kris to pay and unfortunately we didn’t manage to get the details of the Triton driver. Any contributions made towards the vet payment would be greatly appreciated and would mean the world to my family and myself.
