Support Daliah Masters - Scleroderma

Donation protected

My Name is Elissa Antonio, a little over a year ago, I received some devastating news. One of the people who was instrumental in helping to save my life and helping me beat depression was diagnosed with the most crippling disease that I have ever witnessed in my life. Daliah Masters--- affectionately know by many as Dee Masters---a beautiful Mother, Daughter, Sister and friend and one of my mentors, is now battling a disease called Diffuse Systemic Scleroderma. There is no cure for this disease. Scleroderma is a rare autoimmune, rheumatic, and chronic disease that affects the skin and internal organs by hardening connective tissue. She is also dealing with Raynauds disease, another challenge on its own. Raynauds disease is a rare condition of the cardiovascular system in which the blood vessels contract, restricting the flow of blood to the hands and feet. She has had numerous hospital visits, and undergone several procedures, one of which is an Angioplasty due to a heart attack brought on by Scleroderma. Her lungs have also been affected . Due to Pulmonary fibrosis, a type of Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD), she has buildup of scar tissues in her lungs that affects her breathing . A very independent, active, vibrant and energetic person now struggles to get through every single day. She needs assistance with the everyday stuff most of us take for granted and uses assistive devices to get around. Daliah will be undergoing an Autologous stem-cell transplant in another city where she is required to pay for accommodations and other expenses. The road to recovery after this will be long and arduous. Daliah is the only provider for her household. She has been off work for over a year and it is not known when or if she will return to work. Her family has been helping with her immediate bills but cannot sustain the total costs involved by themselves. We are therefore asking for your kind help with the funds that she needs to get through the aggressive treatment, which involves chemotherapy and other invasive procedures. These funds will help to cover the expenses incurred. Anything you can do for my friend in her time of need would be most appreciated as without you, she faces a most onerous undertaking. I am asking you to please share this message as the more people that sees it the quicker we will reach our goal.
