Wheelchairs for Payton Given

$76,375 of $60k goal

Raised by 1,189 people in 50 months

As many of you are aware, my family suffered a devastating loss this year, when my beautiful cousin, Amy Given, passed away at the age of 34. She left behind four beautiful daughters, an amazing husband and so many more who are still reeling from this loss. Payton, one of Amy and Brad's 4 year old triplets, has Spastic Cerebral Palsy and will be needing wheelchairs for when she starts school in September. Please read the following message, written by Amy's husband, Brad and if you can help in anyway, let me know.

"I am asking and reaching out for help. Wouldn't it feel AMAZING to be a part of helping a 4 yr old beautiful little girl with Spastic Cerebral Palsy get wheelchairs to be able to go to school next year? We are trying to help raise monetary, product and/or service donations for Payton Given (Amy and Brad Given's daughter). As most of you are aware, Amy Given passed away January 26, 2012 and left behind a beautiful teenage daughter, beautiful triplet girls and myself. There is a benefit taking place on November 24th at Sackville Super Bowl (6 PM viewing and 7 PM auction) for Payton Given. Also, an account in trust of Payton has been set at Scotiabank Lower Sackville as well as an account with Sackville Bottle Exchange that you can donate your recyclables to. The account number is 33 so please take your recyclables to Sackville Bottle Exchange and donate to account 33. If you don't want to drive out to Sackville, I will go around one day to collect any recyclable donations you would like to contribute. Just give me a call. There are tickets for sale to attend the Benefit and Auction for $5 and other tickets available as well for draws. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE no donation or support is too little because every penny counts towards Payton's wheelchairs and being able to go to school next year. I would like to thank everyone in advance for your thoughtful support and help. As you all know me I am not a person to reach out and ask for help but know I really need to. Thanks again everyone. Love Brad"

Benefit & Auction

This is such an important and worthy cause and one that means so much to me. Anything at all is a huge help. I have also been collecting the tabs off of pop tabs for the family. If anyone is interested in giving them to me at work, I will make sure to pass them on.

Thank you to everyone for taking the time to read this, Please feel free to circulate to anyone you think would be interested.

Another important message, this one from my amazing aunt and uncle, who I love so very much. Please read.

"To all the Angels that made Payton's wheelchair possible,

We are Amy's Mom and Dad. How do you thank so many unselfish people? We would like to say God Bless you to all the children who sold their candy, gave up their allowances, the twins who wanted to celebrate their 4th birthday with P
ayton and the children who are working on bake sales at school. You are a real tribute to your parents. To give from the heart of a child is a priceless gift. To all of you who have offered Payton your own wheelchair, to those of you who have been afficted with Cerebral Palsy yourselves thank you for giving us hope. "God Bless you". To all the individuals and families who gave so generously of themselves, the organizations, businesses, work groups etc. God Bless you. We know Amy would be blown away at the community spirit as we know Brad is. Their 4 beautiful daughters are a real tribute to both of them.Thank you to all the people who are so instrumental in putting this all together. This has been a very emotional couple of weeks but because of such a dedicated family and the very best of friends we made it through. God Bless all of you.If you all have a chance some clear night look up at the stars. Look for the brightest shining one and we promise you it will be our beautiful daughter smiling down on each and everyone of you. Please know that we will be forever in your debt. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for all your love and support. "

My 9 year old daughter saw the CBC program and she went to school the next day and told her teacher all about Payton Given. Doug Given (Brad's Brother) is her uncle and she knows the triplets and Michaela. Her teacher showed the program to her Grade 4 class and now they are holding a bake sale and toy sale next week to raise money for Payton's family. It will be part of their KIDS for Peace school project called "FRIENDS OF PAYTON". The students are all VERY excited about this. They are such a kind and generous class and are very anxious to take action. My daughter is very excited that her class and SCHOOL are a part of this. Florence Elementary you ROCK...

I'm sure you will blow past $60000.00 easily. That is a wonderful amount to have raised but I hope a little extra money will be raised on top of it to help with some of the extras that this family has encountered.God knows raising one child can be expensive never mind 4 with a single income. God bless your family.

I live in New Brunswick and I have a 4 1/2 year old little girl with choreoathetoid cerebral palsy but Im linked to Children with Special Needs and they help cover those expenses, as well as her pedi craft canopy bed. There should be a program in NS to help do the same. Good luck !!
