150-second Film Festival

Thank you for clicking on my page!
My name is Ceed Stapleton and I am passionate about film. I made two short films while abroad and really enjoyed the experience. Now, I have a strong desire to promote and celebrate Canadian film. I am organizing the 150-second Film Festival featuring English and French films that are 150 seconds in length. One theme will be featured each week: Pride, Community, Abroad and Future from June 30th - July 27, 2017. These selected films will be screened at 14 participating cinemas in Ontario, BC and the Northwest Territories.
It's simple: Before packed audiences watch [insert Hollywood blockbuster here], they'll be treated to a Canadian short. Why am I doing this? To increase the consumption of Canadian film content, provide more exposure to Canadian filmmakers and most importantly, to celebrate Canada's 150th!
Right now, I have the generosity of Imagine Cinemas and Capitol Theatre – Yellowknife, who are donating free screening time for these films. As I am neither an arts organization nor an artist, I have no access to funding. Submission fees being charged will be used to mainly pay jury members, staff honorariums and administration costs.
I am an Arts and Cultural Manager keen on making this project a success. So, I'm asking for your financial support. The money will go the the following:
-Website maintenance
-Outreach (from coast-to-coast-to-coast call for submissions)
-Publicity and Marketing
-Distribution and provincial/territorial Film Rating fees
-Honourariums for myself, future staff and jury members (if not covered by the submission fee revenue)
I am hopeful that I'll find sponsors to alleviate some costs, but at this moment, I am relying on individual donations to help make this labour of love possible.
For those of you who donate, your names will be listed on the 150secondfilms.ca website as a donor.
