13.1 This One Is For Weston

Donation protected
This past April, 1LT Weston C. Lee was killed in action in Mosul, Iraq while serving with the 82nd Airborne Division. This devastating loss shocked all of his friends and family back home, and to this day, we are still coping with the loss of such a tremendous person. I was fortunate to call Weston a close friend over the last 4 years. We met in college, were in the same fraternity, worked out together, and spent most of our time together in the outdoors hunting and fishing. Weston was a giant in my life, someone to look up to and who made me a better person for knowing him.  Some fraternity brothers and I from SAE decided to start a scholarship in Weston’s honor. We knew this would be the best way to honor his legacy, at our Alma mater, The University of North Georgia.  The 1LT Weston C. Lee Memorial Scholarship was born and has raised over $72,000 so far. That will provide education for Cadets of the college in the years to come. The reason for this fundraiser is to further honor my friend Weston and his scholarship. If you knew Weston, you know he was one of the most physically fit people and that fitness was one of his passions.

I am running the Publix Half Marathon this March 18thin his honor in the hopes for raising as much money as possible to donate to the scholarship. ALL proceeds donated will be given to the scholarship.

If you know anything about me, I hate running more than just about anything. But, I know if Weston were still here, he would be pushing me to work my hardest as he always did. Please consider donating to this cause near and dear to many of us who knew Weston.
