A trip to the barbershop is more than just a fresh cut!
As a toddler, a trip to the barbershop celebrates a milestone and a rite of passage. As an adolescent, a trip to the barbershop plays a role in spending quality time with pops, taking fly school photos, and adding final touches to one’s Easter Sunday's best. As a teen, a trip to the barbershop increases client’s confidence on first dates, school dances, and high school graduations. As an adult, a trip to the barbershop helps prepare clients for job interviews, weddings, and other pivotal moments in life.
A visit to the barbershop is generally made every two weeks, and for those who like to stay well groomed, weekly visits are necessary. However, there are a many people—for various reasons—who are unable to visit the barbershop on a regular basis to experience the positive benefits a barber can offer. For that reason, 10smiles1love has been created.
Influential and masterful, a barber can virtually be anything you need for as long as you need! We strongly believe a barber can be a valuable leverage in the community because of his or her ability to step in and serve as a big brother, coach, counselor, father figure, mentor or trusted friend. A highly-skilled barber helps to foster the careers of creative artists, producers, photographers, directors, and other walks of life by inspiring clients to live their life by design. An experienced barber creates laughter and joy when one is sad or feeling blue. A well-rounded barber has the talent to analyze politics, address community issues, dissect current affairs, and talk sports to create a comfortable and relaxing environment for customers with diverse interests.
10smiles1love campaign has been created to give back to the community in hopes of starting a movement that will acknowledge the power that barbers have in creating positive change in our community. Tyree will vlog about experiences and interview clients as a way to update and measure effectiveness of the campaign. Donations generated from this campaign will go towards Tyree's pursuit of his master's degree at DePaul University starting in the spring of 2018.

WHAT:
·10smiles1love is a public-service fundraising campaign that allows 10 people every Monday to receive complementary hairstyling and grooming services.
·Full service styling includes clean shaves, fresh linings, and signature cuts.
WHO:
·10smiles1love is for men, women, and children (5+) unable to afford haircut and grooming services on a bi-monthly basis.
·At-risk youth raised by a single–parent or registered at a non-profit organization qualifies to receive complementary hairstyling.
·Unemployed, low-income, or homeless adults also qualify.
WHEN:
·10smiles1love campaign will last for one year from January 2018 through December 2018.
·Every Monday is the designated public service day.
WHERE:
·10smiles1love campaign will take place at Stylez811, which is located at 2225 E. 79th St. Chicago, IL 60649.
WHY:
·10Smiles1love was created to provide complementary styling to those who are not able to afford barber services on a bi-monthly basis.
·10Smiles1love is committed to delivering clients with customized, quality styling to boost confidence, promote self-esteem, and improve performance.
·10Smiles1love aims to create awareness and spread positive messages about the impact barbers make within their community.
