100 Words Of Wisdom Exhibit

The 100 Words Of Wisdom Exhibit (100WOW Exhibit) is an intergenerational conversation through the media of body art and photography. The goal is to ask 100 senior citizens a simple question; "If you could share one word with younger generations, what would that one word be?"
My team and I will then take that one word and paint an authentic body art design on that senior, interview them to learn why this word is important to them, and then take photos of the final design on that elder.
This project will benefit our elders, who have the opportunity to share their stories in an unique way; through body art, storytelling and photography. This project will also benefit our youth who, due to misinformation and fear, have never paid much attention to the seniors in their midst. This exhibit will serve as a bridge for sustainable and ongoing dialog. For all those in between these extremes, they will benefit by witnessing the possibilities of intergenerational harmony through this project.
I have been awarded an individual artist grant from ArtsWestchester's Arts Alive 2017 grant. The grant is for $2,500. While this is a great accomplishment, the funds will not cover my vision completely. Your funds will allow me to accomplish this monumental task. This includes transportation, production of the body art and photography, marketing, promotion, post production, printing, curating, and a wonderful exhibition that engages both the youth and seniors. The exhibit is scheduled for October 26, 2017, and your donation can benefit the project immediately.
