$10 for 10 years campaign

This year's Hall of Fame Ceremony will celebrate the Buena Regional Athletic Hall of Fame's ten years in existence.  As we come into our 10th year, we have initiated our $10 for 10 years campaign.  As we celebrate 10 years, it is our hope that this campaign drive will boost our scholarship awards to higher amounts for the graduating senior athletes.

Our activities are outlined below:

                  Academic scholarships are provided and reserved exclusively for Buena Regional High School senior year student athletes that have received a varsity letter in one or more sports.  The scholarship is reserved for college bound student athletes and will be utilized for qualified education expenses that include tuition and fees; and course related expenses such as books, supplies and equipment.  Room and board, travel research, clerical help and non required equipment are not qualified education expenses.  The amount of scholarships to be awarded and the monetary value of the scholarships will be determined by the Hall of Fame committee and awarded based on the available funds for that school year.  The scholarships are not renewable and will be awarded once to the receiving student athlete.  Selection of the student athletes to receive scholarships will be made on or about June 1st of the graduation year.  The respective senior class  guidance counselors at Buena Regional High School have adopted a policy whereas they verbally encourage all eligible student athletes to apply for the academic scholarship provided by the Buena Regional Athletic Hall of Fame.  Additionally, the eligible scholarship process is announced through the Buena Regional School District announcements and the Buena Regional Athletic Hall of Fame website that posts the Hall of Fame guidelines to all general viewers.  This process is ongoing throughout the school year, however, it is highly encouraged to the student athletes by the guidance counselors during the early spring season of that school year.  The selection of deserving student athletes as made by the Buena Regional Athletic Hall of Fame committee members will be based on student athletes’ scholastic achievement, guidance counselor, teacher and/or coach(es) recommendation and extracurricular activities without regard to race, gender, religion or financial need.   

                There is no set number of scholarships to awarded during a school year, however, the committee has agreed to award as many scholarships to deserving student athletes as possible with positive monies that are available in the Hall of Fame financial institutions account(s).  If relatives of committee member(s) are eligible for the academic scholarship, the relative must meet all of the requirements as listed above.  Additionally, if a relative is eligible for the scholarship, the related committee member must abstain from the scholarship awarding process for that school year.
