1 in a million - Terminally ill & PHighting!

'' Everyone has a secret. My secret? ... I am dying!''

Kinari revealed recently for the first time that she is terminally ill, having kept it a secret to protect her loved ones. The same beautiful, intelligent young lady who is known amongst her friends for being bubbly and charismatic suffers from Idiopathic Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, a rare disease, with no cure. 50% of patients die within 2.8 years, a rate faster than most cancers.

She's kept alive every day by a portable machine pumping IV medication directly into her heart
24/7.

She experiences regular blackouts, chest pain, breathlessness and horrendous side effects such as nausea and migranes to name but a few.

''We all are fighting battles. Some we can see, some we can’t. Life challenges us all, but for some the mountain seems unfairly steep. But yet we climb. With each step we fight.

Our friend Kinari here looks like a happy, positive, smiling, caring person. And she is. But everyday she fights a battle. Everyday she copes with more than most of us could deal with, me included.

She is on the waiting list for a heart and lung transplant. Ironic in that this girl spreads love and breathes positivity.
She walks when others would run away.

I grew up loving superheroes with Superman being my favourite. The ‘S’ on his suit is a symbol for the word ‘hope’. I hope she gets what she deserves in life and that she always spreads her message of hope against adversity.

So we are trying to raise money to raise awareness for PHA UK (Pulmonary Hypertension Association).

Our plan and mission: to walk 50,000 steps in a day covering the Central Line Route in London. This is not going to be easy!

It’s at least 12 hours of walking minimum, but dressed up as superheroes and with Kinari waiting near the finish line we are going to make it! We don’t have a choice :)

With each step we will fight, just as she does every single day!!''

Kinari also has written a blog about her rare terminal illness and difficult journey, having accomplished over 40,000 views in over a year. You can read her captivating blog at:
