'Young Dreaming' - Short Film

Jaydon Adams Memorial Foundation Ltd has partnered with our team to create a short film called 'Young Dreaming'.
The film follows the life of a teenage Aboriginal boy as he navigates his way through one of the most challenging times in his life. Whether it’s experiencing racism or feeling the effects of family members battling drug and alcohol addictions, the scenes images will reflect on one or more issues that many Indigenous kids face daily. The key concept behind the film is that throughout the scenes there will be a great deal of cultural input that is not noticed by any of the characters. From Indigenous Warriors following kids in communities to illustrated artwork following students as the walk into their school; none of this is actually scene by the characters. All cultural input is only seen by the audience. It’s not until a profound experience opens up the young boys eyes that he sees his culture alive around him. This eventually leads the boy to change his life and find success as a Psychologist who champions cultural empowerment as a way for kids to rise above the external forces that are pushing them to take their lives.
‘Young Dreaming’ is being made to raise awareness of Aboriginal youth suicide rates and will have a running time of between 12-15 minutes. To achieve this goal, funds totaling $70,000+ will need to be raised to cover production and expected promotional costs. As such we are asking that you would consider donating to help us reach the target of $20,000 via Gofundme. Other avenues are being pursued to source the remaining funds.
