Randy Gardner's Home Burned Down!

Donation protected
(Update March 20, 2023): Randy is still recovering from the fire. Insurance fell well short of his needs. Also, an encounter with two Elk on the road to his property destroyed his vehicle. Some people have all of the luck!

On top of that, Rady struggles with the impacts of PTSD as a result of his brother's execution, but that does not hold him back. Just a few days ago he traveled to Idaho to testify in the state legislature to oppose the return of the firing squad in that state.

Thursday evening (6/3/2021), Randy Gardner woke up to find his mobile home on fire and escaped with the underwear he had on, and his phone, which is how we have this photo. Pretty much everything else is gone. The motor home in this picture burned too. This is all on his little slice of property out in the Utah desert. Randy is grateful for his life, and that there was no high winds to carry the fire into something much bigger, which could have impacted others in the area and the nearby town.
Randy Gardner is a valued member of the movement to end executions, sharing the pain and trauma his family endures as the loved ones of Ronnie Lee Gardner, who was executed by firing squad in Utah in 2010. Just a week ago he was telling his story in South Carolina, which just made the firing squad an option in that state. Randy was featured in this Associated Press article .
Randy needs our help. Nearly everything he owned is gone. Thank you.
