I am Dina Leor, owner of La Sirena Mexican folk art. We are celebrating twenty two years of representing and helping support Mexican artisans by selling their folk art here in the East Village of NYC. Everything we sell is made and created by another human being.
We also have wonderful, whimsical cultural events with music, art, dance, food and community.
La Sirena is an important part of the fabric that makes NYC what it is !
I had to close the shop doors on March twenty first because of Covid19. So far no grants or loans have come through, just re applied.
I created the fundraiser to help La Sirenas fiesta folk traditions continue on way past these strange and challenging times and hope you can help. No donation is too small or too large.
The funds will be used for rent, storage, utility bills and to continue helping pay amazing artisans who are creating beautiful pieces in small villages in Oaxaca, Chiapas, Puebla & other regions of Mexico as we speak .
I am asking the community to help out with any donation you can give.
Sharing fundraiser and passing the word about the shop is also a way to help support.
I so appreciate your support over the years and will be grateful for any amount you can donate.
Sending love, light, good health to all of you and your families !
