Jim Gordon's Liver Transplant Fund

Over the last three years, my father Jim Gordon, has been battling non-alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver. It has been a long road of doctor's appointments, countless medications, sleepless nights and many rushes to the emergency room agonizing over whether he will make it through alive. While he (and my family) have done everything to fight the progression of this terrible disease, he has taken a turn for the worse over the last 6 months forcing him to take medical leave from his job (if you know my father, this was not an easy thing for him to do) and the need for a liver transplant became a devastating reality.

When diagnosed, my father's doctor told us he wouldn't live long enough to get a liver in California. As you can imagine, this was frightening to hear and since then we have been exhausting all options for a liver transplant. Our only hope at this point is getting him dual-listed in another state. So, we are in the process of getting him on the transplant list in other states and once we are accepted into another transplant program we will relocate with him.

As his disease has progressed, his medical and living expenses have increased immensely. We have brought in 24-hour home care to help us manage his daily care needs. Without being able to work and his care needs increasing daily, we are approaching a financial crisis. In creating this page we are hoping to lean on my dads incredible network of people in his life so we can ensure my dad gets the care he needs until he he is eligible to receive a liver donation. We are asking for any help you can provide financially, no donation is too small.
