WHO WE ARE
Based in a disused quarry, Rockaway Park is home to a community of diverse and interdependent creative talents. At the core of our community is a belief that collaboration and collectivism, sharing work, vision and ideas, are how all great creations take hold and manifest!

We're reaching out and trying to engage with as many people as possible by sharing live music, community events, workshops, courses, classes, symposiums and anything else we can think of through live-streaming. It's also a fantastic way to spread our message of ethical and sustainable creative practice, encouraging others to help make a difference.

HOW YOU CAN HELP
All profits from the sale of online tickets to our live-streamed gigs are donated to a charity, to help support their vital work in making a positive difference in the world.  Once the live-stream is over, we upload an edited recording to our YouTube channel to share with others and continue to raise funds.

Below is a list of our live-streamed recordings, along with images, info and links. You can watch them for free and support us, as well as others, by making a donation. When donating, please add which numbered video you wish to support - 1 or 2 - so we can direct the money to the correct charity and performers. Many thanks for anything you can give, we really appreciate it.

ROCKAWAY PARK MUSIC VIDEO SELECTION

Rockaway Park Music Videos 1: Steve Ignorant Band Playing Crass Songs & The Migraines
Our first live-streamed gig took place on Saturday 9th April, direct from Rockaway, with the Steve Ignorant Band playing Crass songs, Ray Mighty with a DJ punk mash-up, and The Migraines. Tickets were £5 to watch the live-stream, with all profits being donated to  Médecins Sans Frontières UK Doctors Without Borders , along with profits from the sale of raffle tickets and ethically printed posters  - a total of £955!

We've now released an edited recording of the live gig on our YouTube channel and are continuing to raise funds with this page. Our aim is for any donations to be split three ways:

1. Médecins Sans Frontières UK/Doctors Without Borders - to continue our support for their vital work across the globe

2. The Performers - to support the continuation of DIY music wherever we can, especially in these difficult times for touring bands

3. Rockaway Park - to support our community-based projects, such as subsidised places on our workshops and developing our Community Forest Garden, which is accessible to all

Here's the recording of the live-stream, if you want to take a look, or head to the Rockaway Park YouTube Channel

Rockaway Park Music Videos 2: Boom Boom Raccoon, Steve Lake, Fidget & The Twitchers
Our second live-streamed gig took place on Thursday 12th May, 2022. Tickets were £5 to watch the live-stream, in real time, with profits of £80 being donated to the mental health charity MIND.

We're still a long way from breaking even, and it would be great if our followers can help us reach the point of one day actually being in profit. Once we've covered our costs, our aim is to split any profit 3 ways:

1. Mental health charity MIND - to support the vital work they do in helping others

2. The Performers - to support the continuation of DIY music wherever we can, especially in these difficult times for touring bands

3. Rockaway Park - to support our community-based projects, such as subsidised places on our workshops and developing our Community Forest Garden, accessible to all

But we need to cover costs first. So, if you enjoy this recording and can afford to give something, even just a few quid, it would be brilliant, and help us continue providing amazing live music!

The story of this event is pretty mind-blowing in itself - a real triumph over adversity moment for Rockaway Park. Originally, Days N Daze were headlining, with the Blunders and Steve Lake. The Blunders had to pull out a few days before because of illness, so we were lucky to have ska/punk band Fidget & The Twitchers step in. Then, on the night of the gig, Days N Daze pulled out a few minutes before the doors opened because of COVID... With some frantic juggling and the universe smiling on us, folk/punk band Boom Boom Raccoon stepped in to headline instead. Amazingly, they'd been supporting Days N Daze on their UK dates and were at Rockaway for a night off. Because of them, we were still able to offer folks a fantastic show!

Here's the recording of the live-stream, if you want to take a look, or head to the Rockaway Park YouTube Channel
