The Chandan Kumar Memorial Scholarship

Dear Carbon Market Colleagues,

In the memory of our beloved colleague and friend, Chandan Kumar, the team at CaliforniaCarbon.info &  Climate Connect will be forming a Chandan Kumar Scholarship fund for supporting the further education of environmental economists in India.

His tragic and early death was shattering for all those who knew and loved him, as characters as charming, caring and conscientious as Chandan are all too few in this world.

This is to try and further all of the causes that Chandan believed in and devoted his life to when he was with us. We would be looking to establish an initial fund, and primarily from the returns generated look to support the education of a scholar each year. This is a solid and concrete way that Chandan's legacy will last as long as it ought to, and contribute meaningfully to a combination of causes close to his heart: Further education in India, Environmental Economics, and the Global environmental transition.

Our deepest gratitude goes out to all who can remember this wonderful man, and contribute to his much-deserved legacy.

We will be setting up a memorial website with stories of Chandan and photos, as well as eventually scholar's stories. We are aiming to do this over the next month in conjunction with his grieving family. 

All donors to this campaign will receive the link to this website when it is established.
