Help Catman (Tommy Smith) After His House Fire

Hi my name is Marie and I’m Tommy Smith’s (Catman) older daughter. On the night of Monday November 8 we are guessing his wood heater pipe overheated and it caught his house ablaze. He awoke to fire touching the ceiling. He grabbed a fire extinguisher thinking he could put it out but it was so hot it burned his hand. He escaped the fire just in his underwear. He did rescue his bike from under the house. In doing so, something dripped on the top of his head creating a nasty burn. Other than just three burns, smoke inhalation, and a hip injury from jumping, he survived! We consider it a miracle it was not worse.

If you know my father, you know he is a bit eccentric and loves living out in nature. He wants to live out what he has of the rest of his life on his own property on the lake and Im determined to help him find stability and peace again. He lives a simple life and doesnt require much. The biggest need he has currently is finding another trailer or camper to put back up on the 19’ platform that held his house. He is disabled and is low income so didnt have home insurance. He lost everything except his bike. We are slowly pulling together the pieces of his life and hope you will help us reach his goal of buying a used camper or trailer so he can be independent again.

Note: For those asking, he does not need clothing. We bought him a few outfits and since he lives simply, that was all he required in that category.
