A Helping Hand to Start Over

Hi. My name is Charisse and I’m fundraising for my son and me. I left a toxic, very unhealthy marriage and set out on my own with my son. He’s an awesome kid. He’s a kind, respectful and strong young man. I regret the trauma he witnessed and experienced in the home but he’s managing well. He’s 16 years old, plays basketball for his high school and he’s a straight A student.

We were managing okay but health issues (I’m a breast cancer survivor), leaving my home and suddenly having only one incoming all just became too much. In addition, I lost my beloved mother on Christmas Eve 2021 to a very rare blood cancer, Epithelioid Hemangioendothelioma (EHE). My son was extremely close to his grandmother but he has tabled his own grief to help me through mine.

I have fallen behind on rent and other bills. I need to get my son’s school uniforms and supplies and just make sure he has what he needs for school. I work full time but I just can’t seem to get caught up. I really just need a helping hand to pay due expenses and get back on my feet.

Starting this page is so difficult for me. I’m not good at asking for help. But we really do need a helping hand. Thank you so much.
